The Journey Begins

My name is...well, that doesn't matter. As part of a secret organization (called Primatech Paper Company to hide its true purpose) where members are known only by initials, I am L. Nothing more. Nothing less. Who I was before I was L doesn't matter anymore.
My recent order from my superior, M, has been to compile a top-secret dossier with the purpose of proving the existence of the Homeric gods. Now, this may seem ridiculous, but the purpose of our organization is to protect the ordinary humans from extraordinary things, such as monsters of myth.
I have been able to intercept letters which seem to be a form of communication between the old gods of Greek mythology, but that is not enough. Using Homer's poem The Odyssey as a guide, I am retracing the journey of Odysseus, to see if his adventure was real or not. I will use this journal to write about my experiences; it will be later included in the Dossier that I deliver to M on March 20. That is, if I survive my journey...
